"The
mission of Chula Vista Presbyterian Church is to spread the Word and
share the love of God in Jesus Christ."
At
Chula Vista Presbyterian Church, we are a community of believers in
Jesus Christ, committed to proclaiming the good news of the gospel; the
power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith.
We
are a worshiping community.
There are four services each Sunday, each with a different personality
but the same commitment to preaching the Word of God as revealed in
Scripture:
Daybreak
(8:45 a.m. in the Family Life Center) is an “acoustic contemporary”
service;
Traditional
(10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary) is a more liturgical service with full
chancel choir and organ music;
Adoración
(5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary) is a Spanish-language service; and,
Breakpoint
(5:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center) is our electric contemporary
service.
We are a teaching and
training community.
We take seriously Jesus’ command in Matthew 28 to “teach them to obey
everything I have commanded.” We provide educational opportunities for
children of all ages, 2 to 92 (and even above). We have Bible studies,
Women’s circles, covenant groups, Life groups, special seminars, and
other special events to help people grow in their faith through study
and fellowship. We want to equip all who come through our doors to be
ambassadors for Jesus Christ, faithful disciples who continually grow in
their love and devotion to God.
We are a praying
community.
We believe that one of the primary responsibilities of believers is to
humble ourselves and present our cares and concerns before God. We
believe that God answers prayers: that God heals, God restores, God
sustains and builds up, God transforms us through prayer.
We are a sending
community.
We want to be a blessing to our community, to our nation, to our world.
We are committed to providing opportunities for every member to
participate in mission somehow, whether it is expressing compassion
through acts of kindness locally; to international mission work; to more
formalized theological education to enter into ordained ministry.
We are a joyful
community.
It is just plain fun to be a part of a community of believers who love
the Lord, love one another, and have a good time in fellowship together.
There is always room for more if you are new to the area, are not a
member of another church, or if you have never been a part of a church,
we invite you to take a look around and prayerfully discern whether God
is calling you to make this your church home.
